Who
are we?
2000+ Bookstore founded in 1993, is an independent bookstore of serious fiction and non-fiction books and high quality literary works. The books sold by 2000+Bookstore seek to change the way readers think about fundamental issues; they promote such values as freedom of speech and thought; the importance of racial and ethnic diversity; religious pluralism; an anti-racist, anti-oppression agenda; respect for our environment; and the importance of the arts in a civil society.
Our current stock of books emphasizes progressive, current political issues, Mexican-American, African-American interests, gay/lesbian/gender studies, education, children and family issues, classic literature, nature and the environment, religion, science and society, and women studies.
In the words of KPFK Radio, "2000+ Bookstore continues to invite speakers and sell books that are central to an embracing vision of the American people and our future together. Their books are always thought provoking, of the highest literary and artistic quality and able to bridge the best of scholarship with popular accessibility."
